Toilet Twinning funds projects in communities that help families to build their own basic toilet, access clean water and learn about hygiene – a vital combination that saves lives.
They asked us to recommend a way of organising new initiatives such as Bin Twinning and Coffee Twinning with the existing Toilet Twinning charity. We recommended the monolithic brand architecture system which allows an infinite number of services to sit under a new brand name – Global Twinning (working title).
Based on the idea of ‘Two halves make a whole’, we created a consistent identity to visually communicate twinning across the family of products. The identity system of two halves creating one image allows Global Twinning to talk about the other products as a whole, such as publications and exhibition stands. It also allows each product to promote itself individually, such as the Toilet Twinning ‘Hoola Poop’ challenge and merchandise concepts.
The completed brand architecture system and concepts were handed to their in house creative team to implement.
